What belongs on a coffee shop sales dashboard

It's tempting to put everything on a dashboard. The better version has less on it, not more.

Sales by hour tells you about staffing. Sales by product tells you about your menu. Labor as a percentage of sales tells you about your margins. Everything else is usually a distraction from those three.

What to leave out

Vanity metrics: total transactions without context, follower counts, anything that changes daily but doesn't change a decision.

A good dashboard is short enough to read over coffee, before the shop opens.

What's the thing you wish your coffee shop could do?

Tell us what you're trying to accomplish. It doesn't need to be a good idea. It doesn't need to be technical. It doesn't even need to make sense yet. We'll tell you what we'd build.
